Runescape Quests: You must have already completed the Rune Mysteries.

What You Need: Nothing!

Recommended Items: Varrock and Ardougne Teleport Runes, and an Amulet of Glory.

Getting Started

Zamorak MageFirst off, follow the river east of Edgeville to the north until you find the Zamorak Mage. Try speaking to him while not wearing any Guthix or Saradomin items and he will tell you that the Wilderness is not a safe place to talk. He will tell you to go to Varrock.

Rune Essence

Scrying OrbA bit south of Aubury's Rune Shop is an Altar of Prayer and a small church for Zamorak. The Mage should be there. Speak with him and he will want you to do a small task for him. He would like you to get the Rune Essence Teleport spell for him, and he will give you a Scrying Orb for the job.

He says that you will need to teleport to the Rune Essence from 3 different locations. Here are a few places you can teleport from:

  • Aubury - East Varrock Rune Shop
  • Wizard Sedridor - Located in the Basement of the Wizard Tower.
  • Wizard Distentor - Found in the Yanille Magic Guild.
  • Wizard Cromperty - Located just northeast of the Ardougne Market.
  • Brimstail Gnome - Found in a cave in the southwest corner of the Tree Gnome Stronghold.

You just need to teleport to the Essence Mine, leave, and then teleport from another location-- you don't have to mine any Rune Essence.

Scrying Orb (full)Once you've teleported 3 times, your Scrying orb will be completely green. Bring this back to the Zamorak Mage in Varrock and he will give you an Abyssal Research BookResearch Book, a Small PouchSmall Pouch, and 1,000 Runecrafting experience.

Runescape Mini-Quest: Varrock Museum

==>All Runescape Guide List<==

==>Runescape Mini-Quests Guide List<==

Runescape Mini-Quest Start: Begin by speaking to one of the Archaeologists sitting at a specimen table on the first floor of the Varrock Museum.

Runescape Quests: Digsite Quest.

What You Need: Nothing!

The Mini-Quest

Getting Started

To begin, simply talk to any one of the archaeologists sitting at a specimen table behind the roped off area on the first floor.

Archaeologist ArchaeologistArchaeologist

Rock pickSprecimen brushLeather bootsLeather glovesHe will then tell you something about being qualified to help them and then will tell you that you will need a Rock Pick, a Specimen Brush, a pair of Leather Gloves, and some Leather Boots. These can be found on a rack located on the southern wall:

The southern wall

Any other gloves or boots won't work, so use the ones found in the Museum. Once you have the items and have equipped the gloves and boots, talk to any archaeologist again. He now tells you that you may help the museum by cleaning off some of their dig site finds to earn Kudos. Scroll to the bottom of the guide for an explanation about Kudos.

Gathering Artifacts

Uncleaned findWalk over to the Dig Site specimen rocks and take an Uncleaned Find from the eastern rock (the western rock never has any specimens). You can do this by "searching" the rock.

Search the rock

Now go to a specimen table and use your Uncleaned Find with it. You will either accidentally destroy your artifact or manage clean it off. Take your cleaned specimen to an archaeologist and tell him you've found something interesting. If it is special he will tell you about the object's history and which display case it should go in, and if it's worthless you can put it in one of the storage crates to receive a small reward.

Some items you may receive as the reward are: a Pot, a Bowl, Coal, Iron Ore, Copper Ore, Mithril ore, an Uncut Jade, Iron Dagger, Iron Knife, or a few coins.

If you find a Clean Necklace, talk to an archaeologist who will talk to you about enchanting it with the level 49 Magic (enchant level 3). Now when you enchant a Ruby Necklace, it becomes a Digsite Pendant and gains the wearer the ability to be teleported up to 5 times to the Dig Site. Once you have used all 5 charges, the Pendant will dissolve away and vanish. You’ll need another pendant to continuing teleporting. After the conversation, an archaeologist will take your newly found Necklace away. You’ll need to find another necklace to enchant or craft your own.

Items obtained from cleaning an Uncleaned Specimen:

  • Clean necklaceClean Necklace: Talk to an archaeologist for information on how to enchant it.
  • PotteryPottery: Goes into Display Case 22. The case already has pottery in it, but this is the correct case anyways.
  • Old symbolOld Symbol: Goes in Display Case 36.
  • Ancient symbolAncient Symbol: Goes in Display Case 37.
  • JewelryJewelry: Talk to an archaeologist to receive 5 gp for it.
  • Ancient coinAncient Coin: Goes in Display Case 44.
  • Old coinOld Coin: Goes in Display Case 45.
  • Chipped vaseOld Chipped Vase: This is a worthless item. Place it in a specimen crate for a small reward.
  • Arrow headsArrowheads: This is also a worthless item. Place it in a specimen crate for a small reward.

Note: Each object you place in a display case earns you 10 Kudos points.

==>Runescape Mini-Quests Guide List<==

Runescape Mini-Quest Start: Begin by speaking to General Khazard in the vicinity east of the Rellekka House Portal.

Runescape Skills: Skills high enough to defeat a level-160 Ghost Bouncer.

Quests: Fight Arena, Ghost Robes, Restless Ghost; must have started Desert Treasure.

What You Need: Full Ghost Robes, Amulet of Ghostspeak, Ring of Visibility, and 40 coins.

Optional Items: Teleport runes, items, or methods to Rellekka, Camelot, Brimhaven, Tree Gnome Stronghold, Draynor or Falador, Al-Kharid, and Ardougne.

Recommended Skills: High combat, good defense.

Recommended Items: High healing foods, strong weapon, stat raising potions.

Note: This is a mini-quest. It does not show up in your quest book.

Finding General Khazard

To begin this mini-quest, start off by heading to the Rellekka House Portal. The portal is located at the south entrance to the city, Rellekka. Head east and begin searching for General Khazard. General Khazard is not in one spot; he moves around. Below is a map that should give you an idea of where General Khazard is. The General is a ghost and does not show up on the mini-map. Make sure you wear all of the required items mentioned above.

General Khazard's location

Once you find the General, speak with him. He will be surprised of the fact that you have the ability to speak with him. You will give him a short explanation of how and then you will offer your assistance to him. First, he will ask how you know him. Choose either option and continue the conversation. The General will consider you untrustworthy. Try and convince him you are trustworthy, but nothing will work. He cannot take your word on being a trustworthy person. The only person he will believe is Sin Seer. She is located in Seers' Village. Once you finish the conversation, head south to Seers' Village.

Gaining Trust From Sin Seer

Once you have entered Seers' Village, head to the building that contains the spinning wheel. The spinning wheel is located upstairs in the building north of the yew trees. Climb the ladder and head west into another room. There you will find Sin Seer. Sin Seer is not a ghost, so if you would like, you may speak with her without your Amulet of Ghostspeak and Ring of Visibility.

Sin seer

NoteEngage in a conversation with Sin. Explain that you want to prove to General Khazard that you are a trustworthy person. She will tell you that she cannot be bothered with this issue. You will have the options to “Plead” or “Bribe” her. Choose the “Bribe” option and pay her 40 coins. She will give a note, which you should take back to General Khazard. Head back north to the Fremennik Province.

Return the Note to the General

Head back to the region where General Khazard is located. Find him and speak with him. Give him the note and he will consider you a trustworthy person. Now that he trusts you, he will use you for an assignment. You are going to need to find the General’s four scouts. They are located in different parts of Runescape, which will be explained later. Your goal is to find them all and tell them that the planets are nearing alignment. Let’s begin!

General Khazard

Note: Every scout is moving. They do not stay in one dominant spot and wander up and down, left and right. The areas in which the scouts inhabit are shown below. The maps give a generalization of where the scouts are. There have been other accounts that the scouts tend to wander farther or closer than what is showed on the maps. Be patient. If you cannot find a scout, position yourself in one spot and wait for the scout to appear. Make sure you wear full ghost robes, a ring of visibility, and an amulet of Ghostspeak. Although this guide indicates each scout with a number, you may speak with them in any order.

Scout One: Tai Bwo Wannai

Scout number one

The above map is where you can find the first scout. He is located near the village of Tai Bwo Wannai, on the island of Karamja. Head south of the Teak & Mahogany trees to find the scout. Simply speak with him and go though the conversation. Deliver the message the General told you to tell and move on to scout two. Make sure you fully complete the conversation.

Scout Two: Tree Gnome Stronghold

Scout number two

The next scout is located outside of the Tree Gnome Stronghold. Make your way to the stronghold and exit though the south doors. Head in a southwest direction and look for the scout. This scout moves around too, so check the area profoundly. Once you find him, enter conversation and discuss the planet’s alignment. Once the conversation ends, begin looking for the third scout.

Scout Three: Draynor Village & Falador

Scout number three

Teleport or walk to Falador or Draynor. If you start in Falador, leave the city though the south exit and head east. If you start in Draynor, head west to the border wall of Misthalin and Asgarnia. Stay near the wall and follow it north. You should come to an area where the border wall ends. Around here is the third scout. Speak with him and deliver the message. Finish the conversation and find the fourth and final scout.

Scout Four: Al Kharid

Scout number four

The fourth scout is located south of the Shantay Pass. Gather up some food or a waterskin, then buy a Shantay Pass and go through the archway toward the rocks. You should be able to find him immediately. If not, head southwest and begin a search from west to east for him. This scout should not be difficult to find, as he tends to wander very close to the entrance archway of the Pass. Tell him the information General Khazard gave you. At the end of your conversation he will ask you to relay a message to General Khazard.

Scout

Delivering the Scout’s Message to the General

Severed legNow that you have the message of the final scout, return to the Fremennik Province and seek out General Khazard. Deliver him the message and he will inform you of your reward. Your reward can be found in the Goblin Dungeon near the Fishing Guild. Before the conversation ends, the General will give you a severed leg. The leg is the key to your reward.

Khazard General

Preparing for the Bouncer

Bank all items you do not need, and withdraw food, potions, and armor, as well as a weapon if you are not already equipped with one. Monkfish and Sharks are best to use for food, and a set of super Attack, Strength, and Defense potions are handy as well. Prayer does not work against the Bouncer, so Prayer potions are not needed. Head to the Goblin Cave just east of the Fishing Guild entrance.

The cave entrance

After entering it, head north and take the first passage east into a large cavern. Click on the crack and prepare for a fight.

Enter through the crack

Battle With the Bouncer

The Bouncer will not attack immediately, but will instead walk slowly toward you. You can get in a couple of ranged shots or magic blasts before he reaches you. It is preferable to use melee weapons. Eat whenever your HP goes below 35, as the Bouncer can hit up to 20, while also hitting in the mid-teens quite often. The best weapon to use to take a sizable chunk out of its HP bar is a Dragon Dagger, with any level of poison. After using up your Special Attack bar, switch to a stronger weapon if you wish.

Fighting the bouncer

Once the Bouncer is down to 10 HP, you will enter a cut-scene. You will throw the severed leg you received from General Khazard toward the other side of the cave, and the Bouncer will run after it. While it's back is turned, you will perform a devastating attack and kill it.

You receive a shadow sword and 2000 slayer xp

Congratulations! You have completed the mini-quest!

You Are Rewarded

  • A Shadow Sword
  • 2000 Slayer Experience

The Shadow Sword

The Shadow Sword is a transparent, ghostly sword that has stats similar to a Black Two-Handed Sword. It looks similar to the master sword of the console video game series, The Legend of Zelda.

Without Ghost Robes:

With Ghost Robes:

If you lose your Shadow Sword, head back to the cave where you fought the bouncer. A new, friendly ghost will be in the area. Speak with him and he will return your lost sword. You cannot see him or speak with him unless you are wearing the Ring of Visibility and Amulet of Ghostspeak.

But I lost my shadow sword and I don't know how to get it back
