Runescape Quest Start: Begin by speaking to the Watch Tower Wizard in the Yanille Watch Tower.
Runescape Skills: 40 Mining, 25 Agility, 15 Thieving, 14 Magic, 14 Herblore. You must also be able to defeat level 68 monsters.
Quests: None!
What You Need: 1 Dragon Bone, 1 Bat Bone, Vial of Water, Guam Leaf, 1 Jangerberry, Lit Candle, 2 Ropes, 1 Gold Bar, a Death Rune, Pickaxe, a Pestle and Mortar and 20gp.
Recommended Items: A Dragonfire Shield and food are also helpful but not needed.
Getting Started
Head to the Watch Tower found north of Yanille and climb up the Trellis on the northern side to get inside.
Speak to the Watch Tower Wizard, and he will ask you to aid him in finding the 4 crystals that power the Watch Tower and keep Yanille safe. He will ask you to search the surrounding area for clues.
Search the many bushes around the tower until you find a Tattered Eye Patch, Fingernails, a Damaged Dagger, and some Unusual Armor. Show all of this evidence to the Wizard and he will tell you that you must find a way to Gu'Tanoth, the home of the Ogres. On your way out of the Watch Tower, pick up the Lit Candle from a table on the bottom floor; you'll need it later on.
The First Crystal
The First Ogre that you need to speak to is named Og, who can be found west of Yanille. Ask him about gaining entrance to the City of Ogres and he will tell you to get his Gold Bar back from an Ogre named Toban. He will also give you a key to Toban's chest. Head a short distance south and you'll see another Ogre settlement on an island. Use a rope with the Long-Branched Tree and swing across.
Talk to the Ogre named Grew and ask about entering the Ogre city. He will tell you to beat up his enemy named Gorad, and to bring his tooth back as proof. Remember to pick up a set of Jangerberries from the island before you leave!
Now head to the island to the southeast where Toban and Gorad are located. Since the bridge is broken, you'll need to enter a cave found southwest of the island. Once you enter, you'll end up on the island. Talk to Toban about gaining access to Gu'Tanoth and he will ask you to prove your strength and bring him some Dragon Bones. Give him the bones and he will give you a piece of the Ogre Relic.
Talk to the level 68 Gorad, who can be found close by. He will attack you so you may want to bring some food if you think you'll need it. After you defeat him, his tooth will appear in your inventory. Before you leave, open Toban's Chest and take the gold.
Leave the same way you came in and head back to Og and Grew. Give Og his gold and give Grew the tooth, and they will give you the other 2 parts of the Ogre Relic. One of the Ogres (Og, Grew or Toban) will also give you a Crystal. Head back to the Watch Tower and give the Wizard the 3 pieces of the relic. He will put them together and give you a completed Ogre Relic. This is your ticket into Gu'Tanoth!
The Second Crystal
Now go to the Ogre realm of Gu'Tanoth, found just southwest of Yanille. Use the Ogre Relic with the Guard found at the northwest gate of the city and he will let you enter. Head slightly southwest of the market and steal a Rock Cake
from the stall (Note: Don't eat it, you'll lose health!).
Leave the market and head south along the path until you come across 2 Ogre Guards and a Battlement. When you try to climb it, you'll be stopped by one of the guards. Give the Guard your Rock Cake and he will let you pass. Follow the path until you get to a broken bridge with 2 rocks. Pay the Guard 20gp and he will let you jump across. Talk to the City Guards on the other side and tell them that you wish to explore the Skavid Caves. He gives you a riddle; the answer is Death Rune and he will give you a Skavid Map! Leave the city and enter the caves, but be sure to have a Lit Candle and the map.
Enter each of the caves until you find the Scared Skavids. These kind little fellows will try and teach you their language. After speaking to them, enter the other caves and talk to other Skavids. Answer their questions correctly, and after you've talked to each of the Skavids, return to the scared ones. They'll tell you to see their mad kinsmen.
Follow the path opposite the one leading to the city and you should find 2 Guards. Give 1 your Gold Bar and they will let you enter. Follow the road, cross the bridge and enter the cave. Talk to the Mad Skavid, give him the correct answer to his riddle and he will give you the second Crystal. Before you leave, be sure to take a few Nightshades
(Note: These are very dangerous! Do not eat!).
The Third Crystal
Now go to the Ogre Marketplace again and you'll see several Guards standing near a cave. Use a Nightshade on 1 and go inside. Be sure to have food and an Antidragon Shield with you, as there are Blue Dragons, Greater Demons and other high-level monsters inside. Don't attack the Ogre Shamans now, as they're invincible. Head north to the exit and leave the cave.
You'll exit near Yanille; go back to the Watch Tower and talk to the Wizard. He says that you need a potion to kill the Ogre Shamans. Be sure to mix the potion in the correct order:
- Mix a Guam Leaf with the Water filled vial.
- Add some Jangerberries.
- Grind up some Bat Bones with a Pestle and Mortar.
- Add the Bat Bones to the mixture.
Bring the Potion to the Wizard and have him enchant it. Go back to the market and use a Nightshade on the guard like before. When you're inside the cave , use the potion on the Ogre Shamans to kill them. The last 1 will drop the third Crystal.
The Fourth Crystal
Now just go to the center of the room and mine the Rock of Dalgroth to get the fourth and final Crystal. Head back to the Watch Tower Wizard, give him the 4 Crystals and pull the lever. Quest complete!
